Same Sex Relationships
This online consultation is for you if:
- You are currently in a de facto relationship
- You may soon be in a de facto relationship
- You would like to form a binding financial agreement with your partner
If your de facto relationship has ended, complete the Love Law Property Consultation.
Same Sex Relationship Law
In Australia same sex couples enjoy many of the same rights as married couples under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).
This means that when a same sex relationship comes to an end, legal action may be initiated for:
- Parenting orders
- Spousal maintenance
- Property division orders
- And more…
On a more positive note, if you are gay, lesbian, bisexual or in any other kind
of loving relationship and living with your partner in a “genuine domestic
relationship”, you are also able to form a Binding Financial Agreement which
is the equivalent of a prenuptial agreement.
Love Law Same Sex Relationships Consultation
The Love Law Same Sex Relationships Consultation™ will ask you a
range of questions about your own situation and that of your partner and aims to
gain a full picture of your relationship in order to summarise your legal situation
for further action by you, or ideally for your presentation to a lawyer.
On your request, Love Law can send an anonymous summary of your legal consultation results
to registered Professional Partners (lawyers) free of charge. The first lawyer eager
to take your case can unlock your report and contact you.
This means that you will hear from a lawyer who is fully informed of your situation
and who is keen enough to contact you – a far cry from the random
cold calling of a google search of lawyers in your area who deal with family law.
Alternatively, you will have the option to download your Legal Report to take to
a lawyer of your choice, for a small fee.
We understand that same sex relationships may bring challenges that are different
in some ways to male / female relationships, which is why this legal consultation exists
as a distinct option. After beginning the questionnaire you may find that other legal consultations
on the Love Law website are also relevant to your situation.
Take as many legal consultations as you like because the more comprehensive the Legal
Report your lawyer receives, the less time he or she will need to spend consulting
with you initially and the more money you will save.
Why use Love Law?
The time and effort you put into Love Law legal questionnaires such as the Love Law
Same Sex Relationships Consultation™ will reduce the amount of work you
and your lawyer will be required to do and this will save you real money.
You can take as long as you like to complete Love Law legal consultations and you can
even save them and return later if you have other things to do. Take this opportunity
to relax a little and we will try to connect you with an Australian Legal Practitioner
to give you a helping hand.
